Sunset at Po‘olenalena Beach set the perfect stage for Sierra and Kyan’s Maui engagement photos. From the start, it was clear how much joy and connection these two share. They laughed, ran along the shoreline, played in the sand, and embraced the moment with both romance and silliness. Their willingness to be romantic and playful brought so much life to every photograph!
From their inquiry, I learned about their first date: a Malibu beach picnic during sunset, where they spotted a pod of dolphins, including two baby dolphins. That moment became a symbol of their love story, and they wanted their engagement photos to reflect that same magic. Together, we recreated that sense of wonder and nostalgia while capturing the genuine emotions that make their love so special.
For me, the best photos are about real-life emotions: the laughter, the goosebumps, and the deep connection that’s unique to each couple. Sierra and Kyan embodied all of that and more. They trusted me to guide them through their “photo awkwardness” (I disagree with their remark) and by the end, they were completely in their element.
