My name is Vanessa, but everybody calls me Vane (Vah-neh).
Long before it became my work as a Maui wedding and
elopement photographer, photography began as a quiet practice of paying attention.
It all started as mindfulness practice of observing life, getting closer to people, and trying to make sense of what I was feeling inside by turning it into images.
Being an immigrant has a way of making you feel like an outsider at times. Holding a camera felt like carrying a small invitation into other people’s worlds. It allowed me to get closer, to listen to their stories, to understand where they came from, and to turn those moments into something meaningful.
What began as curiosity slowly became a way of life.
Nine years later, that curiosity has taken us across beaches, forests, volcanoes, and cities around the world. Along the way, I’ve cultivated a team of talented photographers, trusted local vendors, and kind humans who share the same intention: creating experiences that feel real, relaxed, and deeply personal.
Beautiful photographs matter to us. But what matters even more is the feeling behind them. The connection to the people beside you. The memory of being fully present while preserving this fragment of your human experience.
